Chants need to get going, fliers will be handed out this week if possible

We need to get more organized.. We didn't really do much in the way of chants this week because all the people we had the first week were either scared away because of the weather or decided to head to the Crew game in Columbus, Ohio (at the same time) instead. It definitely does not help us that were a new group and we have to compete with a 3,000 people section with 4 years headstart on us, 1 hour up the road.

But, hopefully with some better weather and if we hand out some fliers. I'm just going to make some simple fliers with details on us and then send them out to a few of our members who go to University and have free access to printers. If we print out 50 with 5 to 10 of us and then place them in strategic places like bars where young people hang, Soccer Plus, billboards in Paneras and Borders, University billboards, etc. it may help our membership. Hell, even if it gets us 10-20 more it's worth it.

We were supposed to have a better crowd this week, we probably had 50 last week and 20 this week. Derek, the Office Manager, told me our section was going to have 4 Dutch pilots who were part of that Dutch Air Force video there and 20-30 guys who live in Bellbrook and play in a Rec League were going to join. But, both opted out because of the chilly weather. If they would've came we would've had 50 or so last night.

Also, some of my best guys, the drummers, were either gone watching the Crew or had other matters they needed to deal with. Both will hopefully be back next week, although there also is a Crew game we have to contend with next week as well.

I'll likely be able to do much more marketing and trying a lot harder to get more people out this next Saturday. I had three finals last week and car trouble so it was a bad week for me. I want everything to be way more organized. We should also look into getting a megaphone for chants. We will do MacIntosh's next week definitely, I'm going to go there when my car gets fixed this week to talk to them about deals for Orange Legion supporters. Were going to have another banner session (either Tuesday or Wednesday)- this week we may put our two banners together and adhere them to make a crowd banner, this is where the crowd actually holds it up and waves it back and forth. Plus we'll also make the two sticks this week. I wanted to last week but I got swamped with finals and etc.

Anyways, next week counts for real for the U.S. Open Cup and I want us to show up for real next week. This week was sort of a mulligan for the team and I guess us as well. Our business "Appliance Doctor' is handing out kazoo's in support of the DDL. I am also Dutch although immigrated when I was very young. I do know a few 'chants' that we can hum thru a kazoo but would be most effective if everyone knew the same ditty. Difficult for me to show up on Wed nights since I teach on that evening. How can I teach the 'other side' my one little chant? Should I show up early and hike on over to the 'other side'? My father is thinking about a few more songs to learn.....
